The Cape Girardeau County Area Medical Society (CGCMS) is a
professional organization representing more than 213 Cape County physicians. CGCMS has
represented Cape Girardeau physicians and patients since 1938.
MISSION:
CGCMS is nonprofit organization advocating the interests of
physicians and their patients in the improvement of public health. CGCMS utilizes five
key goals to achieve our mission.
GOALS:
1. Enhance the reputation of CGCMS and its members through
professional and personal development through continuing medical education programs for
physicians and office staff.
2. Promote interdisciplinary harmony among our members and
maintain a member driven approach based on effective communication.
3. Vigorously maintain the highest ethical standards.
4. Represent physicians’ interests when interacting with
managed care organizations, third party payers, legislative groups, and regulatory
agencies.
5. Be an effective advocate for our members and strive to
maintain the highest quality care for our patients.
